Patient jumps to death from Kiruddu Hospital balcony

KAMPALA - A patient has died after jumping off a balcony at Kiruddu General Hospital in Kampala.

Health ministry publicist Emmanuel Ainebyoona said the kidney patient had been receiving dialysis at the health facility.

The unnamed man jumped off the balcony of the eighth floor, he said in a statement.

"According to [the] dialysis team, he was admitted with breathlessness, having missed some dialysis sessions before admission," the ministry added.

It is understood the patient also had a pnuemonia  that "health workers managed, and he had improved".

He is said to have been waiting for his morning dialysis session.
