CNN crew arrives for Twins Festival

Jacqueline Frazier, Isaac Oboth and Digo Lubanga on Saturday followed a pair of twins, Barbra Babirye and Brenda Nakato

A crew from global broadcasting giant CNN jetted into the country to cover the Twins Festival slated for Sunday at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The crew, who included Jacqueline Frazier, Isaac Oboth and Digo Lubanga on Saturday morning went to the Crafts Village, Buganda Road to follow a pair of twins, Barbra Babirye and Brenda Nakato, proprietors of the Twins Foundation who own a crafts shop in the village.

The crew later followed the twins to Kayunga, where, through the Twins Foundation, they have partnered with Vision Group as part of the activities ahead of the Twins Festival to visit a pair of disadvantaged twins in Kayunga district.

The Kayunga twins have sickle cell anaemia which has left them crippled and unable to do much on their own. They are also severely impoverished and needy.

Penlope Nankunda, the contributing editor weekend papers also handed over cash contributed by Vision Group staff to Babirye and Nakato, which they delivered to the crippled twins. The staff also donated clothes, beddings, soap, porridge, rice, salt, toys and other things for the twins.

Babirye and Nakato are involved in charity work and use part of their revenue from the crafts shop to help needy children.
