Excel Academy in partnership with the Legends Soccer School

This follows the Legends' Soccer School head coach Anees Abbas’s visit to Uganda for three days where he was able to visit and work with children from Zion and Excel Soccer Academies.

 
In a bid to create more pathways for Ugandan footballers to play in South Africa, the Excel Soccer Academy has strengthened its partnership with the Legends Soccer School based in South Africa.
 
This follows the Legends' Soccer School head coach Anees Abbas's visit to Uganda for three days where he was able to visit and work with children from Zion and Excel Soccer Academies.
 
Addressing the Excel Academy children after a morning workout at the StarTimes Stadium on Saturday, Anees advised the youngsters to remain focused, enjoy the game but most of all remain disciplined.
 
"The key for me in the game and anything in life is discipline. No matter how talented you are if you're not disciplined, you'll not go anywhere.  Listen to your coaches, train at 100% and enjoy the game but most of all remain disciplined," Anees cautioned.
 
He was impressed by the amount of work the local coaches were doing with the children and was also impressed with the massive talent across.
 
"I have spent some time with the boys and some girls and it has been phenomenal. There is a lot of talent here despite the lack of facilities if more stadiums like this could be put up it would be phenomenal because the number of people that want to play the game is big," Anees noted.
 
He said Uganda was on the right path as regards talent development but is only limited by the infrastructure and facilities.
 
"It is one of my highlights of the year when I come to work with Patrick Gwayambadde and his kids which also gives me a different perspective of life to see some of these disadvantaged
