Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango noted that they were yet to start their investigations because no complaint had been registered.

The family of injured city Musician Michael Kalinda popularly known as Ziggy Wine had by Friday not yet reported to police a kidnap case and threats Sunday Vision has learnt.

His motorbike that he had used to travel on that fateful Sunday, July 21, 2019, when he went missing had also not yet been found.

James Mubiru a close friend to the musician told Sunday Vision that the family was still too scared as they didn't know who particularly had carried out the macabre incident of gorging out his eye, cutting his two fingers and then using a flat iron to burn his body.

"We are just not yet sure. We haven't yet agreed to go to the police because we don't know who to trust now," Mubiru said.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango noted that they were yet to start their investigations because no complaint had been registered.

"Once a complaint is registered we will open up investigations and determine what exactly happened," Onyango said.

Ziggy who is a member of the firebase crew, a musical group owned by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu the Kyadondo South Member of Parliament who is also known by the stage name Bobi Wine was abducted by unknown people while on his way to their studios in Kamwokya on Sunday, July 21, 2019. He was later dumped around Mulago where good Samaritans rushed him to the National Referral hospital where he is currently admitted.

The musician is currently unconscious and in a very critical state.  His sister who didn't want to be named told Sunday Vision that they had been forced to transfer him from the casualty ward to a more private facility but that it's very expensive. She appealed to members of the public and politicians to come to their rescue.

"It is very expensive treating him now and on average we are spending close to sh200, 000 on him, but he is not even responding and his condition is growing worse," the sister said.

By Saturday morning none of the politicians who went on social media to condemn Ziggy's torture had turned up at the medical facility to see him. On Thursday, Kyagulanyi admitted that Ziggy was his very close friend.

"My close friend and fellow artist (Ziggy Wine) was kidnapped a couple of weeks back, beaten beyond recognition, his left eye plucked out, two of his fingers cut off, all his belongings taken and dumped in Mulago Hospital and left for dead," he said.
