Umar Semata became the first Ugandan to beat Moses Golola

Umar Semata v Moses Golola (Freedom City, Saturday)

As Moses Golola and Umar Semata pump up the volume of their trash talk ahead of the big fight on Saturday at Freedom City, there is a lot at stake for the two celebrated kickboxers.

The contest is shaped by a revenge narrative and for this matter, Golola gets an opportunity to pay back having lost to the same opponent last year in rather a shameful fashion.

Semata, on the other hand, wants to, in his view, silence any doubters that he is the best Ugandan kickboxer.

When he defeated Golola last year, he became the first Ugandan to beat the motor-mouthed fighter.

Dubbed the fight of the century, Golola has expressed that this is his last professional fight. But who can take his word for it? Anyway, he is looking at a memorable send-off hence this bout meaning so much to him.

With sh50m in his sights in prize money courtesy of Hipipo CEO Innocent Kawooya, Golola is determined to stage a deadly fight in the super middleweight 75Kg+ in the K1 category lasting five rounds.

Conversely, Ssemata is one fight away from owning a Mercedes Benz from Hartz Group of Companies in the event that he wins.

With an overwhelming target of 25,000 fans, the organisers have incorporated different activations starting as early as 4 pm until the main event later in the night.
