Muhangi eyes boxing glory

Uganda Boxing Federation president (UBF) Moses Muhangi has promised to work hard to fulfil his dream of reviving the sport.

In what Muhangi always refers as "operation reviving boxing" he said that he has partly achieved a reasonable success by putting a break to wrangles.

Muhangi made the vow while presiding over the closing ceremony of the weeklong AIBA Star-One Coaching Course at Katikati gardens in Lugogo on Monday.

The event that attracted 25 coaches was facilitated by Ghanaian instructor. Asare Ofori.

"At the climax of every event we normally assess what has been done and it is with great appreciation that I would like to thank every member who
has contributed to the success of this event. I believe we are moving in an operation to revive boxing and we have partly achieved that goal,"
Muhangi added.

Uganda boosts of 10 star-1 coaches which enhances the number of coaches who are allowed to second pugilists during international events like the World Championships.

Martin Mangeni, Lamson Lakony, Samuel Kabugo and, Patrick Lihanda, Mike Kintu and Tony Sekabira were among the first coaches to attain be certifi ed by the world boxing body, AIBA.
