Athletes will be expected to register to compete ahead of time as Wednesday is the deadline

The National Athletics Championships set for Friday and Saturday at Namboole Stadium will test athletes and their professionalism as the track and field season comes to a conclusion.

"This Friday and Saturday we shall have the final track and field event of the year and they will serve as a ranking event for the IAAF.

All athletes will have their times captured and we expect all participating athletes to register early enough," Uganda Athletics Federation president Dominic Otucet said during the pre-tournament press briefing.

This means that there will be no stoppages for equipment problems and time lags because everything has been prepared according to the IAAF standard since it will serve as a qualifying event for many.

Athletes will be expected to register to compete ahead of time as Wednesday is the deadline to enter the competition.
