What next after Sebastien Desabre's departure?

It remains a mystery as to whether the Frenchman was pushed or he jumped

Just a day after Uganda Cranes exited the Africa Cup of Nations at the round of 16, coach Sebastien Desabre has parted ways with the national team.

However, it remains a mystery as to whether the Frenchman was pushed or he jumped, following an embarrassing player revolt over unpaid allowances in the run-up to Uganda's last 16 matches which the Cranes lost 1-0 to Senegal.

Desabre, who had a slow start in charge of Uganda Cranes, leaves with his head high after surprising pundits let alone himself at the Africa Cup of Nations to reach the round of 16.

In his first eight games in charge of the Cranes in different competitions with international friendlies inclusive, Desabre managed only a single win (a 3-1 win over minors Sao Tome and Principe at Namboole) - losing four (against Zambia, Namibia, Central Africa Republic, Niger) and drawing the other three.

The 42-year-old Frenchman replaced Serbian Milutin Sredojevic who had left in July 2017 to become coach of Orlando Pirates in South Africa.

Desabre, who made a name while in charge of Ismailia of Egypt before joining Uganda, is likely to go back to Egypt.

News coming in from Egypt says Desabre is now likely to join Pyramids Football Club which is currently owned by the chairman of the Saudi Sports Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, who took over the team in the summer of 2018.

Midfielder Khalid Aucho and KCCA FC striker Patrick Kaddu are also likely to join Desabre at Pyramids Football Club as negotiations are reportedly on-going.
