Thierry Manzi's 93rd-minute strike saw Proline start their campaign in CECAFA Kagame Cup on a low note, following their 1-0 to defeat to home side APR yesterday.                   

Proline, who were promoted to the topflight few months ago will now take on Heegan FC from Burundi in their second game in Group C on Monday. Green Eagles from Zambia and APR are joint top in the group with three points although the Eagles have a better goal difference, while Proline and Heegan are third and fourth respectively with no point. 

The Uganda Cup holders who are taking part in CECAFA for the first time are joined by league champions KCCA FC. Both sides will use the competition as build up for the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.

The winner of the annual tournament will walk home with prize money worth $30,000 (sh112m), while runners and third best team receive $20,000 (sh75m) and $10,000(sh37m).  Azam FC is the defending champions having defeated Simba 2-1 last year in the final.

CECAFA Kagame Cup brings together teams from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
