Kenya takes two-point lead in the Victoria Cup

KAMPALA - Kenya is determined to beat Uganda for the fourth consecutive time in the Victoria Cup after taking a two-point lead, during the day-two action at Kitante.

After sharing the spoils on the first day on four points each, Kenya upped their game in the four-ball-better-ball third round, beating Uganda by 3.5-0.5 points to stretch their lead.

Uganda fought back in the afternoon foursomes but could only manage 2.5 points and are now trailing the three-time champions by two points, going into the final round of the singles action.

"Our boys messed up their short game in the morning but we fought back and we can turn tables in the final round because each one will bring out his A game in the singles," Uganda team captain Joseph Cwinya-ai said.

The last round will have 10 singles games on Saturday where another 10 will also be played in the subsidiary event between Kenyan golfers who stay in Uganda and their Ugandan counterparts.
