The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has warned Police against interrupting its activities ahead of the West Nile mobilization trail.

Addressing journalists at Najjanankumbi based party headquarters in Kampala on Monday, the party spokesperson, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, revealed that they will be resuming countrywide mobilization tour in West Nile this weekend.

According to Nganda, the party president, Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi and the former party Presidential flag-bearer and self-proclaimed president of the people's government, Dr.Col. Kizza Besigye will be leading the mobilization drive.

Nganda said FDC leaders will meet members and supporters in the districts of Moyo, Yumbe, Obongi, Koboko, Maracha, and Arua.

They will conclude the tour with campaigns for the FDC LC5 chairperson and councilors in Nebbi district.

The seat fell vacant following the death of the district LC5 Chairperson, William Ezrom Alenyo, who passed away after being involved in a car accident in September last year.

According to the Electoral Commission (EC) released road map, the elections of both the LC5 chairperson and other lower local government councils shall take place on July 11, 2019.

The FDC candidate for Nebbi is Mr. Onyai Emmanuel, and according to Nganda, the party is confident he will secure victory.

"Already, we have two councilors; Afoyulu Bernard and Onega Esther," Ngandda said.

The two, Nganda revealed are directly elected councilors for Padwot sub-county and woman district councilor for Alala Sub-county respectively. They went through unopposed.

Nganda thanked Uganda People`s Congress (UPC) leaders for withdrawing their candidate Charles Ulangi Mba to rally behind the FDC candidate.
