Congratulatory messages pour in for the Cranes

Cranes now entertain Zimbabwe on Wednesday before taking on the hosts Egypt

With the Cranes registering one of their best starts in the Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Egypt, the whole country and everyone took note.

Congratulatory messages have not only come from the highest office in the land but from several other people including many on social media.

The latest to chip in with another congratulatory message is the permanent secretary in the ministry of education and sports, Alex Kakooza, who on behalf of his department has promised more support to football.

"I congratulate our national football team the Uganda Cranes upon the resounding 2-0 win in Uganda's first game against DR Congo. This win confirms Uganda's arrival at the high table of African football for which all Ugandans should celebrate," Kakooza wrote.

"Government through the Ministry of Education and Sports is doing as much within its means as possible to support Football, and indeed all sports in Uganda. I urge all to join in and support the Uganda Cranes at this important time of the 2019 AFCON,"

"To the players thank you for the brilliant individual and team performance so far, I urge you to maintain it and fight for individual, team and national success and pride," Kakooza stated.

After their definite display against DR Congo, the Cranes entertain Zimbabwe on Wednesday before taking on the hosts Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday.
