ABRIDGED NOTICE FOR CONSULTANCY FOR RE-BRANDING SERVICES OPEN DOMESTIC BIDDING

The Insurance Act, 2017, established the Insurance Training College to replace the Insurance Institute of Uganda. The Insurance institute of Uganda, formed in 1964 by the members of the insurance industry, was mandated to address the high levels of insurance illiteracy in the country and also to set up a body that would address the issue of professional membership. The Institute thus served as the membership body as well as the professional trainers under the existing law of the time and was registered and recognized by the National Council for Higher Education and the Insurance Amendment Act (2011). Among the key changes in the law is the establishment of the Insurance Training College.

IIU wishes to rebrand into The Insurance Training College of Uganda (ITCU), a premier insurance training college. The new College is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal for purposes of discharging its duties. The mandate of the College is to design curricula, train, examine and award qualifications, register, develop and guide the conduct of its members. The College will also work closely with the Regulator, Associations and key stakeholders and partners at a local, regional and international level.
