REGIONAL COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM (RCIP) UGANDA

The Government of Uganda has received funding from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (RCIP) Uganda and intends to utilize part of this funding for consultancy services.

The consultancy services ("the Services") include Conducting a National Broadband Baseline Survey and Developing an Infrastructure Blueprint.

Uganda's Vision 2040 seeks "A Transformed Ugandan Society from a Peasant to a Modern and Prosperous Country". The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Sector is identi� ed in the Second National Development Plan (NDP 2015/16 - 19/20) as one of the primary growth sectors that can spur this transformation and as such the country needs to tap into the potential of ICTs. A key area through which the enabling role of ICTs can be harnessed is the broadband ecosystem. As one of the few general-purpose technologies, broadband is becoming increasingly pervasive, continually improving and catalysing new innovations, making it an enabler for, e� cient, transparent and participatory Government.

The Government of Uganda represented by the National Information Technology Authority - Uganda (NITA-U) has received funding from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (RCIP) Uganda and intends to utilize part of this funding for consultancy services.

The consulting services ("the Services") include The Development and Implementation of the Nationwide Cybersecurity Awareness Strategy aiming to is to raise awareness on cyber hygiene and cyber security best practices nationwide. This will contribute to the gradual building of an information security culture among these target groups; youth, internet users, consumers of electronic services, GoU workforce, academia, communities in rural areas and the public. The assignment will be carried out over a period of two (2) years.
