Obita wins JBG Seniors Golf Open

Obita who led a team of seniors from Kilembe Golf Club returned 68 net, to win the one-day event.

 
Kilembe Mines Golf Club golfer Peter Obita was on top of his game when he won the JBG Seniors Golf open at Tooro club on Saturday.

"I am happy that I have won this tournament. It was very challenging playing against senior golfers like Basaliza Araali who has played golf for over 50 years," Obita said.
 
Partrick Kagoro came second with 74 net, while Lucia Alinda won the ladies category after returning 70 net.
 
Mbarara Golf Club's Mackline Nsenga was the runner up in the ladies category with a net score of 72.
 
"I have been sick but I have managed to make it and I will continue to play well and win more trophies," Nsenga said.
 
"I camped early at the Tooro golf course and did enough training in preparation for the game," Nsenga added.
 
She said the conditions were good and this time rain did not disorganise them.
 
Andrew Biryabarema the Tooro club captain said that the tournament will be held annually. Over 100 golfers participated in the JBG sponsored event.
