Pool back with a better format

As planned the women’s league is now independent of the men’s league and is expected to improve the competition in both competitions.

The pool league will return after a five-month hiatus next week with a couple of changes set to take the sport to another level.

As planned the women's league is now independent of the men's league and is expected to improve the competition in both competitions.

"As Pool Association of Uganda, the league will start in two weeks with a possible 12 men's teams and 7 women's teams. This makes us happy because it is going to raise the level of competition due to the fact that all the best players can be accommodated in these teams," PAU publicity secretary Peter Kyobe said.

In the women's league, there are suggestions that there could be doubleheaders as teams will likely face off four times as opposed to two.

All because they need to ensure that the ladies get as much competition as they can from their much shorter competition.

This new format of doing things will improve the viewing experience for fans seeing as most teams have the best of the crop which promises for tight contests across the aisle.

Last year, there were 15 teams in the senior pool league and ladies pool league although the level of performance was not as impressive in all teams. This time the fewer numbers call for better performances which is something players can look forward to.
