Muslims celebrate Eid al Fitr

KAMPALA - Muslims across the world are celebrating Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadhan that started last month.

The Director of Sharia at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu confirmed that Eid al-Fitr will be marked Tuesday.

He noted that the moon was sighted and urged Muslims to prepare for Eid prayers on Tuesday.

"I take this opportunity to inform the Muslims that the moon has been sighted and this means Eid al-Fitr festival which is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims will be marked Tuesday," Kakungulu said.
