On Wednesday, six men raided Cheap Hardware shop in Nansana as the workers were preparing to bank the days sales which sources say stretched into millions of shillings.

Three of the men who were armed with AK47 rifles and were wearing masks indiscriminately opened fire killing two staff on the spot and later stole undisclosed amount of money.

"We were having lunch when about three motorcycles appeared. One of the men suddenly entered the hardware followed by four others and started shooting as they demanded for money. It almost took them over 30 minutes as they ransacked the hardware and shot at the workers to scare them off," an eye witness told New Vision.

Incidentally Nansana Police station is not far away from the hardware but responded to the shooting incident almost 40 minutes later according to the eyewitnesses.

Several security agencies including the army and the police had sent in their officers who cordoned off the scene and tried to dust it in order to recover any evidence.

The particular area is covered by the recently introduced CCTV camera and a police officer who was part of the investigation told New Vision they had already secured vital footage to help them with the investigations.

Transport along the Nansana-Hoima road remained paralyzed for the greater part of the afternoon as security agencies blocked sections of the road as they carried on their investigations.
