Thunderbirds meet Eagles

Winner of the two semi-finals will then meet in the finals. As the top team, the Thunderbirds will come up against the Mbale Eagles who are in the fourth place currently.

 

The women's rugby league returned a few weeks ago and already the four team tournament has gotten to the halfway stage.

As usual multiple league champions' Thunderbirds are leading the charge and if all goes well, a win against the Mbale Eagles will set them on their way to defending their title.

They narrowly defeated the second placed Black Pearls by 27-25 at the end of the first round to take up top place. The nature of the league this season does not leave much room for error, which means the second leg at King's Park Bweyogerere will be as equally difficult.

The only impediment to a possible title is the change of the format of play. Teams will compete in a regular season that ends on June 8 and then the teams will take part in a playoff.
