Silence in the disco as MUBS students end stressful semester

After an action packed semester of strikes and guild president campaigns where majority shouted on top of their voices, it was the best time to shake off the stress in a silent disco.

As majority of the Nakawa based Makerere University Business School students struggled to write their last exam of the semester last week on Friday, a part of their brains was smiling because they already knew the plot for the following day.

After an action packed semester of strikes and guild president campaigns where majority shouted on top of their voices, it was the best time to shake off the stress in a silent disco.

Since most of the students reside in hostels around Nakawa, a hostel was the best venue for the night and because of its wide space, Ideal Platinum Hostel hosted the party.

Forget most of the events that usually get lit in the wee hours of the night, the silent disco was already lit by 7:00pm as students from various hostels flocked in with force as if heaven's doors were being closed

The night was not for any musician to waste peoples' time. It was all about dancing and grooving to Kampala's hit music and to pull this off, Kampala's finest DJs Slick Stuart and Roja hit the stage to turn up the party for the students.

It was silence everywhere for those who didn't have headphones but for those who had them, it felt like ‘ekigunda' and ‘embuutu yembutikizi' combined.

The party went on until after midnight and some students had to limp back to their hostels because of excessive use of their legs on the dance floor.
