Handball: Ndejje, Nkumba win

The Luwero based university beat the army side 23-19 and 32-27 in the women and men’s league games respectively on Saturday in Bombo to stay on top of the table log in the nine-team league.

Ndejje University continued to dominate the national handball league with wins against UPDF in the men and women teams respectively.

The Luwero based university beat the army side 23-19 and 32-27 in the women and men's league games respectively on Saturday in Bombo to stay on top of the table log in the nine-team league.
 
"Our target is to defend the men's title and also reclaim the women title lost last year to Nkajja handball team," coach George Isabirye said.
 
Ndejje men are targeting a third title in a row while the women side who lost last year's title to Nkajja who are aiming to reclaim it, but they face stiff competition from former champions Nkumba University who are second in the women league.
 
In the men's category, Makerere Bulls on six points are trailing Ndejje by two points but look forward to dethroning defending champions.
 
Meanwhile, Isma Kisalita and Dan Aboku of Makerere Bulls lead the scoreboard with 38 and 34 goals respectively in the men's league while Scovia Lamunu of Prisons tops the scoreboard with 50points followed by Doreen Ondoa of Nkumba with 42points.
 
The league continues on Saturday and Sunday in Nsambya.
