Happy Europe day 2019
Signing of the Financing Agreement for Muzizi (48MW) HPP supported by KfW and AfD in 2017.
The Muzizi Hydro Power project is to be implemented as a Public Project and financed under the Mutual Reliance Initiative, with KfW German Development Bank (5.36million Euro grant plus 40 million Euro as a concessional loan), Agency for French Development (AfD 45 Million Euro as a concessional loan), EU grant of 19.55 million Euros and approximately 21million Euro funding from GoU.
UEGCL is the implementing Agency.
When completed around 2022, Muzizi HPP is expected to generate an average of 240GWh/year, equivalent to the power demand of more than 60,000 households.
