We can now host the FIM Africa, says UMX

The test was passed and now Uganda Motocross Club (UMX) is confident they can host the continental championship (FIM Africa Motocross Championship) next year.
Club secretary Evas Orland disclosed this after successfully organising the two day FIM Central Africa Motocross Championship (FIM CAC) that ended with a landslide victory for Uganda at the Uganda Motorsport Arena Busiika in Luwero district on Easter Sunday.

"I'm glad we have successfully ended this event. We are going to evaluate ourselves and see the areas we have to improve on, but what I can assure you is that we are capable of hosting the continental event," Orland said.

"We set bar high and our focus is to better our organisation," she added.
The mammoth crowd that braved the long day sunshine and dust got value for their money as each class was tightly contested by the Uganda riders.
Guests including Major General Leopold Kyanda, Colonel Paddy Ankunda, Lt. Col Deo Akiiki, were seen shaking their heads in disbelief of the talent the youngsters exhibited, flying their bikes like choppers on the track.

The competition in all classes was so high that you could not predict who will win a class before it ends except those where the Orland brothers were.
In the 50cc class, it was a mouth-watering showdown between William Blick Jr. Pascal Kasozi, Ramathan Mubiru and Miguel Katende on the upgraded sand track.
This was the same in the 65cc category, as Gift Ssebuguzi and Kreidah Nsubuga gave Alon Orland a run for his money. Stav Orland entertained the guests with his whipping styles.
In the first heat, fans screamed their voices out when Kylan Wekesa and Waleed Omar led Stav for four laps, but Kylan dropped out after his bike lost power.

Maxime won the MX1 class after sweating to beat veteran rider Asaf Natan and in the Mx125 cc Aviv Orland, Fortune Ssentamu and Wazir Omar gave fans value for their money in all the three heats.
For national captain Maxime Van Pee, he was all smiles and when contacted he said, "I'm happy with the performance of our riders and I have confidence that next year we can win back the Africa title."

Security
The security on the track was very good that no fan got to the track. All fans stayed in the spectators' zone, and only officials and photographers with bibs accessed it.
