Easter celebrations

Apr 21, 2019

Christians thronged Christ the King Kampala to mark the resurrection of Jesus. The parish priest, Msgr. Gerard Kalumba, was the main celebrant in the 8 O’clock and 9 O’clock masses. Deacon Joseph Balikudembe told worshippers to reject self-pity and regrets and focus on the new life that comes with resurrection. The children took the readings and led in petitions during the Easter masses. At Lubaga Cathedral, the mass was led by the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Luigi Bianco, assisted by the Archbishop of Kampala, Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga. It was graced by Hon John Chrysostom Muyingo, the head of the laity in Uganda, Gervase Ndyanabo, Prince David Wassajja, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Louis Kasekende, the Public Affairs Officer at the US Embassy, Ronn Hawkins and hundreds of other Christians.
