Uganda Cubs need not less than four points in their last two games of the group stages to make it to the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

This follows their 1-0 defeat to Angola in their opening game on Sunday. Cubs who are currently third in group A with no point just like hosts Tanzania are three points behind table leaders and second placed Nigeria and Angola respectively.

"We are going to work on our mistakes and we come back a better side. Against Angola, we just failed to utilise our chances. We still believe we can make it," stated Uganda Cubs coach Samuel Kwesi.

The ten man Cubs fell to Osvaldo Pedro Capemba's 33rd-minute goal and did not recover to lose maximum points on Sunday at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam. Left back Ibrahim Juma was sent off in the 87th minute after a second bookable offence and will miss Cub's next game against hosts Tanzania on Wednesday.

Uganda is drawn against Tanzania, Nigeria and Angola in Group A. The 13th edition also has Guinea,Cameroon, Morocco and Senegal in Group B.

The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil as Africa's representatives.

Uganda made it to the finals of the Nations Cup after defeating Ethiopia 3-1 in the final to emerge champions of the CECAFA region.

Tanzania is the second East African nation to host the CAF Africa U-17 Championship after Rwanda in 2011.
