Uganda Martyrs University became the first team to qualify for the knockout stage of the Pepsi University Football League after a 2-0 win in Mbale over Islamic University In Uganda on Saturday.
 
Goals from Nsereko Shafik and Nakibinge John were enough to secure a knockout berth for the Masaka based side.
 
The result saw Uganda Martyrs topping Group B with ten points from four games while St. Lawrence sits second with seven points. 
 
Meanwhile, Nkumba University edged closer to qualification after their 2-0 win at home over Bishop Stuart University. 
 
Action will continue this afternoon when Kampala International University host current champions Kyambogo University.
