Uganda House gets a new look

Milton Obote Foundation, in strategic plan II 2016-2022 is on the move to reposition itself for competitiveness, proitability and relevance. This, according to the chairman Board of Governors, Jembrace Paul Erongot, is a strategy aimed at achieving the company's mission and vision. According to him, strategies to achieve the objectives were identiied. They include increased visibility from identiiable and recognised engagement in national development, strong portfolio and sustainable commercial enterprises, strong internal capacity for service delivery and robust capacity for financial management.

Milton Obote Foundation is the registered proprietor and legal owner of the property Uganda House, Plot 10, Kampala Road, which is managed by Uganda House Investments Ltd. In order to achieve the company's objectives, several infrastructure development projects have been earmarked to be undertaken over the period of MOF Strategic Plan II, 2016-2022. They include refurbishment of the Ofice Tower Block, extension and refurbishment of the retail space of Uganda House, Plot 10, Kampala Road, and construction of a warehouse on Plot 37/39, Fifth Street, Industrial Area in Kampala, with the objective of enhancing a strong portfolio of sustainable commercial enterprise, .

There will also be refurbishment of the property on Plot 24/26, Bunyoli Road, Industrial Area, Mbale, and construction of a 12 storey car park on Plot 8, Kampala Road, construction of a warehouse on Plot 40/42 on 7th Street, Industrial Area, Kampala and construction of residential property in Kyambogo, Kampala. The chairman Board of Governors also observed that a landmark facelift of Uganda House has just been completed with works such as installation of two new KONE Lifts, refurbishment of the main entrance and refurbishment of Lift Lobbies from Floor 1 to Floor 13.

According to him, two new KONE lifts have been installed with features such as carrying capacity of 1150kg( 15 persons), travel speed of 1.6 m/s, travel hight of 46.39metres, silver brushed lift cabin walls, front wall and ceiling, full width mirror itted in the lift cabins and elevator announcer. The two new modern KONE Lifts have enhanced the quality of services offered to tenants and clients by Uganda House Investments Ltd. "The refurbished main entrance and the refurbished lift lobbies have enhanced the ambiance of Uganda House, to international standards and raised the proile of tenants conducting business at Uganda House," the chairman stated.

The tenants of Uganda House are enjoying the following services offered by Uganda House Investments Ltd, management; new and modern lifts, one free parking space, two standby generators, enhanced security, coupled with CCTV Cameras, ire detection and ireighting equipment and advertising services on the website of Uganda House Investments Ltd. It should be noted that the commissioning ceremony witnessed yesterday at Uganda House was a result of successful implementation of the planned projects as per the MOF Strategic plan II, 2016-2022.
