FUFA Drum competition returns on Saturday

In the new format this year; all the quarter-finalists will converge in one venue and play to determine the champion

The second edition of the FUFA Drum Competition will resume after arrears from the previous edition were settled.
 
This was revealed by the Organizing Committee Chairman Rogers Byamukama during the draws Wednesday at FUFA, House Mengo ahead of the first outing slated for this weekend.
 
"In the review meeting, the FUFA President promised that prize money will be paid before the kickoff of the second edition.  I want to confirm that the money was wired to the different winners. I want to first thank FUFA, the 16 provinces, fans and all the stakeholders for a successfully organised maiden edition.  The second edition gets underway this weekend and I want to confirm that we are set," Byamukama said.

The man of the match cash prize (sh 100,000) and the plaque will be maintained this season and FUFA  will provide transport, accommodation and feeding, and financial assistance to all the provinces.
 
Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda is expected to be the chief guest as Buganda takes on Lango on Saturday in Mukono.
 
The Competition will be played between 16 provinces of Uganda, and its aimed at taking the game to the masses
 
Buganda Province went down in the books of history as the maiden winners of the FUFA Drum tournament. They beat West Nile 2-1 on aggregate in the two-legged final to win the championship
