The fan-centric engagement soccer platform is a continent-wide initiative by Nile Breweries'parent company Ab-Imbev.

The winning team from the continent will tour Europe with Cameroon's football legend Samuel Eto'o.

In Uganda, the competition will be played all over the country starting at the township level where two teams will qualify to the 32-team regional tier. Four teams will then qualify from each regional level to the national finals that will comprise of 16 teams (4 from each region).

The winning outlet team at the nationals will then compete at the Africa 5-a side tournament in Tanzania with other teams from where the winning team will earn an all-expense paid European tour in the company of 2000 and 2002 Africa Cup of Nations winner.

"This is an amateur platform built around friendship and harnessing football as a passion point of many Ugandans. It is more of a social call than a football challenge," Nile Special Brand Manager Francis Nyende said.

"It is a social league meant to provide a platform for friends to come together over a beer and enjoy a kick-around but it has a big magnitude of reward and we intend to make the run-in to the tournament a special one,"

The finale will also feature a ladies 5-a side competition with the winners also making the Tanzania trip for the Africa 5-aside.

In the exhibition games that set the tournament in motion, the Ex-Internationals featuring Sam Kawalya, Edward Kalungi, Geoffrey Massa, Fred Tamale, and Iddi Batambuze among others beat Pool Nest 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the final.

The Ex-Internationals had earlier seen-off USPA 6-1 while Pool Nest had beaten Nile 3-0.
