Speaker Kadaga airlifted to Nairobi

Kadaga fell sick after she returned from abroad on official visits in Morocco and the US and according to a release from Parliament, it was fatigue and jetlag.

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has been airlifted to Nairobi for treatment.

According to her press secretary Sam Obbo, the Speaker has been taken to Aga Khan Hospital on the advice of the doctors in Kampala.

Kadaga was rushed to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala on Thursday night.

This was after she returned from abroad on official visits in Morocco and the US and according to Parliament, it was fatigue and jet lag.

Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni has checked on her at the hospital.


The President arrived at the hospital at 11:40 am. His convoy kept outside the hospital while only two of his vehicles entered the hospital gate.

He was immediately taken to the where Kadaga was where he spent about 15 minutes.

According to deputy presidential press secretary Lindah Nabusayi, the President was concerned about Kadaga's condition.

Many people including MPs thronged the hospital to check on the speaker but were unable to see her.

What is Kadaga suffering from?

According to the Speaker's press secretary, Sam Obbo, Kadaga was hospitalized because she had fatigue. She had just returned from Morocco as well as the US.

He says Kadaga always has a busy schedule and this has broken her down.
