Police is probing a case where two sisters got involved in a quarrel over the ownership of articles of clothing, prompting one to stab the other to death using a pair of scissors in Kawempe division, Kampala.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, on Saturday night at about 9:00 pm, the two sisters, Teddy Linda Nakyanzi, 16, and a student of Timber Secondary School in Bwaise  and Mary Ulger Nakiwuge, student of YMCA, both daughters  of John Kaweesi and Kadijja Nassazi of Kawempe-Mbogo, started quarrelling and eventually fought each other.

"In the process, Nakyanzi stabbed Nakiwuge to death using a pair of scissors on the neck," said Onyango.

Explaining the tragic incident, he said the fight came about after Nakiwuge wore Nakyanzi's dress and did not wash it after.

It is alleged that Nakyanzi had always complained to their mother about Nakiwuge repeatedly using her sister's clothes and failing to wash or take care of them.

On the fateful day, Nakyanzi returned home to find that her clothes had been disorganised and she confronted her sister about it but Nakiwuge reportedly told her off.

The crime scene was visited by Kawempe division CID and scene of crime officers who recorded statements from eyewitnesses.

Nakyanzi was apprehended and is being detained at Kawempe Police Station.
