As drivers prepare to battle it out in the 217.5km Central Motor Club (CMC) rally on Saturday on Sunday, the organisers are ensuring that safety takes precedent and have issued guidelines for fans to that effect.

The rally with 80 percent closed routes, has seen the organisers set up viewing points to the fans.

Clerk of the Course, David Nsobya on Tuesday said the viewing points for fans have already been identified.

They include Biyinzika Plant for the 13.99kms Namere to Gegedde section, Takajunge, and Nakapinyi for the 10kms Mpoma to Nakapinyi, and again Nakapinyi for the 15.54kms Nandagi to Nama sections.

"All these sections will be repeated twice and fans should not rush to cross to other sections before the finishing to watch all cars in one section," Nsobya said.

Two events will start with a super-special stage on Saturday in a 6.4kms race before heading to Grand Praclos Hotel for the night ahead of day two on Sunday.

Ronald Ssebuguzi navigated by Leon Ssenyange will hit the sections first, followed by Jas Mangat and Hassan Alwi.

When asked on how ready they are to open the route Ssenyange said, "we have done so several times and we are ready to do it again."

"It is going to be tight but it all comes down to preparation. In Mbarara, we were still on a honeymoon, but this time we are going to push a little harder."

This event will be closely monitored by FIA delegates Willy Dupresis, Steve Hurding and Bertil Karian from South Africa and Sweden to ensure it's a safe rally
