Coach Wasswa Bbosa believes that winning different accolades as coaches motivates them to work more.

The Tooro United tactician made the remarks after being named coach of the month of January at the Real Stars monthly sports awards held at Khalifa Executive Suites in Bugolobi, Kampala.

"This makes us happy as coaches since it helps us to put in extra work so that we perform better. I believe rewarding us or even players inspires us to work hard. My target is to ensure that Tooro United finishes among the top five in the league and I believe I am on course," stated Bbosa.

Bbosa, who guided Tooro United to three wins including the scalp of cup holders KCCA in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32, won the accolade over BUL's Peter Onen and Livingstone Mbabazi of Mbarara City.

TopBoy promotions led by its director Phillip Munaabi joined Jude Colour Solutions and Elfirsan Group, as other sponsors of the awards. They provided a cash prize of sh100,000 each for all the nominees.

Tooro goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa who kept three clean sheets in the league and also saved three spot-kicks against KCCA in the Cup was named January's best player.

Mutakubwa won the accolade over Mbarara City skipper Hillary Mukundane and Juma Balinya of Police.

COBAP Boxing Club boxer Yusuf Babu, who beat Emma Kyambadde to win the heavyweight category in the recent National Open, was selected as the best boxer.

It was the first time Babu was competing as a heavyweight; a category which was previously dominated by Kyambadde.

Babu won the award over Yasin Adinan (Mutajazi Boxing Club) and Musa Shadir (East Coast Boxing Club).
