Specialized training for the banana chips and flour processors in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygienic Practices (GHP), UNBS standards, Food safety management systems and recommended practices for hygiene in the food and drink manufacturing industry; and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Quality Management System (QMS) manual based on the HACCP at four (4) processing facilities.

Under the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) funded project "Reducing vulnerability of banana producing communities to climate change through banana value added activities - Enhancing food security and employment generation," UNIDO is assisting the Government of Uganda to support vulnerable communities in Western Uganda to better adapt to the effects of climate change (CC) through banana value addition activities, to provide greater opportunities for income generation, poverty reduction and food security.

UNIDO hereby solicits a Request for Offer from a reputable company, research or other institutions, or incubation centre in the delivery of training services, toward the institution of a food safety quality management system at each of the four (4) banana chips and flour processing facilities in Western Uganda.
