The national junior teams will now be under the same stewardship

Peter Onen who guided the national U17 football team to the 2019 AFCON Nations Cup has been dropped as the head coach of the team.

Onen was dropped alongside Wasswa Bbosa who was in charge of the U20 team.

"FUFA would like to thank the coaches who have played a key role for the senior and junior teams during the period they were on duty with the players. The changes will help for continuity purposes, growth and development of players in the categorised national teams.

Further reviews on the technical personnel of the Uganda Cranes and other National teams will be made and communicated in due course," said FUFA communications manager Ahmed Hussein.

The decision was taken by the FUFA emergency executive committee aimed at re-organising the management and technical set up of the national football teams.

In the new development, the national junior teams (U17 and U20) will be under the same stewardship. The new head coach is yet to be confirmed.

However in the new setup, the KCCA FC academy coach Jackson Magera will be the 1st assistant coach while Hamza Lutalo will serve as the 2nd assistant coach. Kiberu Mubarak will take over as the goalkeeping coach while Emma Nakabago will be the head of medical and Frank Bumpenjje serving as the kit man.
