CHRISTMAS

KAMPALA - It was a fun filled day at St. Luke's Church Mulago as children ended the year with a Christmas party.

St Luke's Church Mulago held a Christmas party last Saturday at the Church Gardens where children, parents, guests and well-wishers graced the event.

Parents were also given a chance to participate in some games like the tag of war where the mothers were put to compete against the fathers and the women came out victorious defeating the men.

Rev. Grace Lubaale also attended the event and gave out gifts to children. He emphasised that children should enjoy the party and take part in the various fun activities since it also helps to develop their talents.

The event kicked off with a learning session, where children were taught the purpose of Christmas then they were ushered into praise and worship session led by Daniel Bagonza, the children's coordinator.

Kimberly Namboozo, an 8year old in Primary Four at Hormisdallen Primary school in Kamwokya said, "I have learnt about the birth of Jesus and I thank my Sunday school teachers for making for us this party."

Carol Nakato, a Sunday school teacher said it is very important for children to understand what Christmas is about.  Away from the celebrations and feasting, they should know the story of Jesus' birth.

Baram Awania, 12, a Primary Seven pupil at Kitante Primary school in Kampala said, "I learnt that Jesus was born in the kraal and I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas."

There were lots of activities for children like bouncing castle, face painting, gift sharing and food.

There was also Mr Clown who took the children through a game session like tag of war, river bank, chair dance and many others.
