Playing off handicap 4, Magala opened her round with an identical 85 gross in each of the first two rounds before finishing off with an 81 to beat Nigeria's Rachael Danjuma to the championship by one stroke.

Magala was part of a five-man Ugandan team that also included Gloria Mbaguta, Irene Nakalembe, Wendy Angudeyo and Pamela Tumusiime and one of 8 single handicapped players in the annual tournament that attracted golfers from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Nigeria.

Other Ugandans Nakalembe and Mbaguta finished fourth and fifth; 4 and 20 strokes behind respectively, with Angudeyo finishing eleventh while Tumusiime did not make the cut to play in the final two rounds.
