"Being the Woman Member of Parliament for Kamuli district, I feel delighted and happy that many girls are going to benefit greatly from this charity group. So many girls out their drop out of school because they can't cope with challenges of managing their periods because of lack of sanitary pads.

This is going to benefit them and I hope Ugandans benefit from these initiatives next year in various ways," Kadaga said.

After her speech, the speaker flagged off the runners and participators in the run. The runners who were over 500, did a mini marathon of 2km from Kyadondo and back.

Revelers at the event had to pay sh20,000 to access the grounds and this money was used to buy  sanitary pads.

After the race, revelers began playing and covering each other in color and in a few hours, Kyadondo was marred with all shades of color.
