Woman batters son to death over sh10,000

Police in Iganga are hunting for a 39-year-old woman who beat her 11-year-old son to death accusing him of stealing sh10,000.

Hajara Nairuba reportedly beat her son using a big stick after one of the neighbours accused the deceased, Shamiru Kalulu, of stealing the money from her house.

The LC one Chairperson of Namungalwe B village, Samson Balidawa said, the accused, acting out of anger picked a big stick and started hitting the deceased on the head and stomach till he died.

Balidawa said the accused later fled after realising that her child had passed on.

A post mortem report carried out at Iganga Main Hospital indicates that the deceased died as a result of internal bleeding.

The Iganga District Police Commander, Nassibu Nditta, said Police is hunting for Nairuba on charges of murder.
 
Nditta cautioned parents against using excessive anger while punishing their children to avoid similar incidents.
