Express FC players can now put their bodies on the line for the club in today's Uganda Premier League fixture against Vipers after signing a morale-boosting three-year partnership with betting firm Betway worth sh1.2b.

The offer was announced at a media press briefing Tuesday in Kampala. The sponsorship that will see Express receive sh400m every year will take care of three sets of jerseys, training kits, naming rights of the stadium, the welfare of the team and travelling kit.

Betway marketing manager Africa Mark Rowles (L) country manager Adellah Agaba, Express FC's Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Francis Buule showoff the sh400m sponsorship cheque from Betway

"The new sponsorship is a very interesting package, to be honest. On those three years on top of giving us money, they will also give us technical support through Forwardzone on and off the pitch plus management training. We think that brings great value to the sport and management of the game," club chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka stated.

"We have finally hit the jackpot. This sponsorship is attached to players' welfare therefore as management we can't use that money unless the players are catered for," he added.

Express's other sponsors are Equity Bank and Buganda Land Board.
