The deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) Brig. Muzeeyi Sabiiti has implored the owners of Crane Roofing Limited who were recently attacked by panga hit gang to always scrutinise its workers.

Muzeeyi made the remarks during his courtesy visit to the company in Kabembe village, Kyampisi sub county Mukono district on Monday.

Sabiiti said that persons seeking  employment should present valid documents including National IDs .

Interacting with management, Sabiiti said, "I advise you to relocate the CCTV cameras control center because this place is so open that's why the thugs broke into it and also ran away with microchip that stored the footage," he said.

The Indian victims were identified as Presd Tekansiya and Sbbodh Kumar and Jimmy Asindu and a security guard who sustained several cuts from the machete gang .

During the attack last Saturday, panga wielding men also wounded Tekansiya and Kumar. It was also reported that the attackers ran away with cash worth over sh30m and mobile phones.

The Naggalama police station boss, Sampson Higenyi said they had started the process of screening the suspects and the security guard pinned Joel Mubajje alias Rasta, Isaac Wandera and Benard Wejuli as the attackers.

"We have also improved the security of this company with the Police and the army supporting the Tight Security Company," he said.

Police urged people to remain calm, saying the gangs will be defeated though the public remain fearful and are worried that they could become the latest victims of the gangs.
