UCU ejected from the University Football League by KU

UCU 3  KU 1 (KU qualifies 4-3 on aggregate)

Uganda Christian University (UCU) have been eliminated from this year's Pepsi University Football League.

Despite winning the return leg of the quarter-final 3-1 Thursday in Mukono, UCU were ejected by Kampala University (KU) on 4-3 aggregate having lost the first leg 3-0 last week at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

This is the fifth time UCU are failing to go past the quarter-final. They were eliminated in 2017,2016,2015 by Uganda Martyrs University and Kampala International University in 2014 at the stage.

UCU who had themselves to blame after missing a lot of scoring opportunities saw John Adriko  Jerome Semambo and Joshua Kigozi each score for Kintu Mwera coached side, while Cyrus Mwesigwa was on target for KU.

KU who made it the semifinals are  on the verge of winning their third league title.

Uganda Martyrs University (UMU), Nkozi beat former champions MUBS 2-0 to win last season title.
