Conducting an End of Project Evaluation for the Sustainable Financing of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park (SFRMNP) Project

Introduction: 

World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the global conservation organization has a mission to stop the degradation of the planet's natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by: Conserving the world's biological diversity; Ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable; and Reducing pollution and wasteful consumption. Under the Forestry and Biodiversity program, WWF Uganda with funding from European Union and French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM) is implementing the "Sustainable Financing of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park (SFRMNP) Project in the Rwenzori region covering the districts of Kasese, Ntoroko, Bundibugyo and Kabarole"

The project's over all objective is to ensure that : Biodiversity and ecosystem services of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park (RMNP) are secured and contributing significantly to local livelihoods by 2020

The specific objective of the project is to ensure that By 2018, the adoption and strengthening of sustainable financing mechanisms ensure the long term financial stability of the RMNP, for the conservation of its ecosystem and biodiversity and increasing benefits to local communities.
