The Uganda National Women football team, the Crested Cranes have progressed to the semi-finals of the COSAFA Women's Championship in South Africa.

They beat Zimbabwe 2-1 to and make it to the last four and to also top Group C. The Crested Cranes settled for a goalless draw against Namibia before defeating Swaziland 4-3 in first two games.

Juliet Nalukenge and captain Tracy Akiror were on target for Crested Cranes, while Rutendo Makore scored a consolation for Zimbabwe.

Crested Cranes and giants Cameroon are the two guest teams that are taking part in the event.

Uganda is the third East African country to feature in the COSAFA Women's Championship after Tanzania (2011) and Kenya (2017).
