National women football team, Crested Cranes head coach Faridah Bulega has named a squad of 20 players that will represent Uganda at the COSAFA Women Championship due September 12 to 22 in South Africa.

The Crested Cranes flew to South Africa Monday.

Crested Cranes and giants Cameroon are the two guest teams that will feature in the football event .

Uganda is drawn in Group C alongside Swaziland, Namibia and Zimbabwe. They will face Swaziland in their opening game this Wednesday.

Hosts South Africa will compete in Group A together with Botswana, Madagascar and Malawi while Group B will be comprised of Zambia, Cameroon, Lesotho and Mozambique

Uganda will be the third East African country to feature in the Cosafa Women's Championship after Tanzania (2011) and Kenya (2017).
