Tennis league: Trailblazers dealt a severe blow

Trailblazers suffered a setback in the ongoing Kampala Premier Tennis League when they were defeated 2-1(6-8,8-4,8-6) by defending champions Tennis Titans over the weekend at Lugogo Tennis Complex.    

Despite the defeat, they remained second with 36 points, three above third placed Tennis Titans. Trademark Kinetic are top of the table with 42 points.

The four months tournament involves six teams and they are; Trade Kinetic, PTC Warriors, Trail Blazers, Game Changers, Lugogo boys and Tennis Titans.

In other games played over the weekend , Game Changers lost 3-0 (8-1,8-0,8-5) to PTC Warriors, while Trademark Kinetic beat Lugogo Boys 8-3,8-3,7-8 (5-7) .

Each team is comprised of eight players with at least one junior player and a lady. The tournament which is played in league format will have the top four teams engaging in playoffs after the preliminary rounds.

The league is also subjected to International Tennis Federation (ITF) code of conduct and rules.

Team Titans cruised past Team Kinetic to clinch the maiden Kampala Premier Tennis League at Lugogo last season.
