The She Cranes returned from Zambia on Monday after winning the Africa Netball Championship that ended at the weekend.

And they have now turned their focus on winning the Netball World Cup next year in Liverpool.

Team captain Peace Proscovia and her teammates believe they can do well at their third World Cup appearance next year if they start preparing early.

"The players are so determined for anything and that makes me believe that we shall perform better than we did at the 2015 World Cup,"  Proscovia said.

"All the girls seem so motivated and I think if we maintain this squad, we shall be able to win the World title next year."

Three of the 12 players on the team, Florence Nanyonga, Stella Nanfuka and Lillian Ajio returned with minor injuries.

"The games got tense and that is how three of my teammates got these minor injuries, but I know they will be fine," she stated.

Uganda retained the Africa title on Saturday after finishing with 12 points, unbeaten in six games.

They beat Namibia 72-47 in the first game, Malawi (51-46), Kenya (61-42), Botswana (66-35), Zambia (64-56) and Zimbabwe 66-51 at the International Youth Olympic arena.

They ended the six day contest with two points ahead of Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia tied at eight points each in second, third and fourth positions.
