KAMPALA - Wananchi may have defeated Historicals 4-3 but the latter unlocked the mystery of defeating this year's men's League favorites.

There was a revelation that when teams take the game to Wananchi, they look vulnerable.

A relatively weak Historicals pressed hard in the opening stages of the game on Sunday at the National Hockey Stadium.

Interestingly they were rewarded with two goals in the 23 and 24 minute as Wananchi found themselves in a place of bother desperate to avoid dropping points keeping in mind second placed Weatherhead had won their game against Rockets to go joint top.

The league leaders however showed resilience to recover from a huge deficit as a Patrick Yoacel double proved crucial.

Evergreen Joshua Gumisiriza got off the mark before the deft William Oketcha got the winner in what was a very close game.

The slender lead ensured Wananchi remained top of the log on 34 points, three above second placed Weatherhead.

Meanwhile in the Women's category, Kampala Swans suffered another defeat at the expense of Weatherhead 1-0 courtesy of Joan Mukoya.

However, despite Weatherhead's win Wananchi are close to winning another Women's league title.
