Tennis Titans is on the verge of retaining the Kampala Premier Tennis League title.

This comes after they beat PTC Warriors 3-0 in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles to move top of the table standings with 21 points.

To reach the summit, the Titans saw Olivier Nkunda beat Ronald Ssemanda 5/4 in the singles. This came after Ssemanda gave way the game after sustaining an ankle injury.

Earleir, Simon Ayella and Winnie Birungi beat Frank Tayebwa/Patience Athieno 8/3 in the mixed doubles while Ayella/John Oyet defeated Tayebwa/Stefan Latincic in the doubles 8/5.

The four-months tournament that got underway a three weeks ago involves six teams; Trade Kinetic, PTC Warriors, Trail Blazers, Game Changers, Lugogo boys and Tennis Titans.

In other games played over the weekend, Trademark Kinetic and Trail Blazers overcame Game Changers and Lugogo Boys 3-0 respectively. Each team is comprised of eight players with at least one junior player and a lady.

The tournament which is played in league format will see the top four teams progressing in play-offs after the preliminary rounds.

The league is also subjected to International Tennis Federation (ITF) code of conduct and rules.
