KCCA FC chances of making it to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League were dealt a severe blow following their 1-0 loss to Esperance of Tunisia at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Saturday.
KCCA strikers missed a couple of clear-cut chances especially in the second half. Allan Okello, Muzamiru Mutyaba and Sadam Juma were some of the culprits that failed to bury their chances.
Substitute Jouini Haithem scored the only goal for Esperance in the 40th minute. Haithem brought on in the first half after Mohamed Youcef Belaili sustained a shoulder injury.
KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago was shown marching orders by centre referee Janny Sikazwe after two bookable offences.
Esperance who are on the brink of making it to the quarterfinals, top group A with ten points, seven above bottom KCCA.
